There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel complex that features numerous conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 table games.
