Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel complex that highlights many luxuries in addition to the gambling den, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
